Cosmo City, Gauteng
Cosmo City was initiated by the Gauteng Department of Housing, and the City of Johannesburg, and Codevco (a Basil Read subsidiary) was appointed as preferred developer in 2000. Basil Read eventually broke-ground in January 2005 and Cosmo City was the first mixed use, fully integrated sustainable housing development in South Africa.
